| Making a Debt Claim Online |
| Use the Claims Engine to Draft Your Claim |
| From your list of current debts go to 'next step'. Select 'Create Claim'. Press 'Go'. View the list of Invoices. If they have changed between letter of claim and claim date enter the changes. If any are paid, delete them. If part paid use the offset payment button to enter the sum paid. If new invoices are due between letter of claim and claim select 'add an invoice to this debt' and add them. Click 'create claim document' at the foot of the page. Enter the Salutation (for the letter you will send telling the Debtor you have issued the claim). Preview the draft of your claim as it will be entered into Money Claim Online. It looks skeletal but MCOL demands this compactness. View the draft letter to send to the Debtor when your claim is issued. Press 'accept' if you are happy with them. |
| Log Into Money Claims Online |
| View our third Video on 'Making a Claim'. You will need to open an account with MCOL first time. At your 'debts created' page select the debt (click on its name). Scroll down to 'Claim Documents Created'. Click the 'view doc' link beside 'Claim'. Click the 'select the document text' link and copy it to your clipboard. Click the link below to open a new window to MCOL. Click the orange 'I am a Claimant' button (or on your frist time click the 'I am a new customer' link and follow the online instructions to open your account - it costs nothing and is instant). Otherwise click the 'I am an existing customer' link. Enter user name and password. Press the green 'Log in' button. This takes you to your online Claims Menu. Click the Green 'start a new claim' link. |

| Read the help notes. You only need to do it only once. Press 'continue'. |

| Enter an identification for your claim. Use your own reference. Press 'continue'. |

| Enter whether you are an individual or organization. State your name and address. Press 'save' then 'next'. |

| Enter whether the debtor is an individuial or an organization. State Debtor's name and address. Press 'Lookup' to check the address details. Press 'save' then 'next'. |

| Paste your Particulars of Claim from your clipboard into the box on Screen 5. Check the 'characters' box has counted them. If it says 0 go to the end of the claim document and add a space and check the character count shows. Answer the 'Human Rights' question 'no'. Answer the interest question 'yes' (NB this is different from shown in the video do this not what the video shows) Ignore the pop up screen and close it. Your interest claim is already in your Particulars of Claim. Put the total of your claim (shown at the end of the Particulars of Claim) into the 'Amount Claimed' box. Press 'calculate' beside the Court Fee. MCOL automatically enters it. Ignore the solicitors box. Type your name to verify the statement of truth. Press the lime green 'submit' button. |

| Select the payment method for paying the Court Fee. |

| Enter your card information and click 'submit' (once only) to pay the Court Fee. |

| View the payment confirmation screen. Print the screen for your records as instructed - this is your record of the Claim number. You will be shown a copy of your completed Particulars of Claim. Print a copy of that as well. Then leave it to MCOL to serve your claim on the debtor. |
| The Letter With Claim |
| Go back to the claims engine and the debt details page and scroll to the bottom. Select 'view doc' beside 'Letter with Claim'. Copy and paste this letter into your word processor (or Wordpad). Print it and post it to the Debtor. Its content is self explanatory and provides a further incentive to pay before a judgment is entered against him. |
